The 2022 college football season has given us many moments that would have us believe the game is absolutely drunk. We have college basketball blue bloods owning the football space and drones delaying college and NFL games in Washington. Each week brings new stories and teams that have taken another step forward. Here are the five teams that owned Week Four.

5. Kansas Jayhawks

In a matchup that would undoubtedly bring College Gameday to town if it were played on the hardwood, the UNDEFEATED Kansas Jayhawks and Duke Blue Devils met on the gridiron this past weekend. Like I said, this season has been drunk. The Jayhawks took down the Blue Devils 35-27, proving the ghost of Todd Reesing is alive and well. The Jayhawks are still being disrespected by those who own a vote in the AP 25, as the squad was once again left out this week. Should we get used to Kansas being a football state?

4. Clemson Tigers

The Clemson Tigers are a college football juggernaut that hasn’t found themselves in the top stories of the college football world this season. That all changed this weekend when the Tigers traveled to Winston-Salem to take on the darlings of the ACC in Wake Forest. In what was the most exciting game of the weekend, Dabo’s Tigers took home the win in a shootout that ended in overtime. Only time will tell if the Tigers are an actual contender or pretender for the College Football Playoffs.

3. Kansas State Wildcats

Kansas State seems to always be good for ruining a Big-12 team’s season at least once a year. This year’s victim happened to be Boomer Sooner. The Wildcats went on the road and made the Sooners bow down to the purple reign. The Oklahoma loss all but ensures the Sooners will miss out on the College Football Playoff but for now, let’s raise a glass to the state of Kansas becoming the football juggernaut we all expected.

2. Tennessee Volunteers

If there’s one program that will never let you forget that they one a game, it would be the Tennessee Volunteers. They’ve talked about a National Championship they won before anyone on their roster was born, so beating Florida on Saturday will undoubtedly make the Volunteer fan base insufferable this week. However, let’s give credit when it’s due. The Volunteers look to be for real this season. That is until Georgia takes them to the woodshed.

1. Middle Tennessee Blue Raiders

First off, this needs to be said. Middle Tennessee has the greatest nickname in college football. Blue Raiders? It doesn’t get any better than that. The Blue Raiders are the team of the weekend, as they defeated The U in convincing fashion 45-31. Miami is rivaling Texas on how many times a team can be back. Maybe ESPN should do a 30 for 30 on why the Hurricanes won’t be back. Blue Raiders take a bow; this is your time. Until next week.
