Once again, the Worldwide Leader in Sports will be turning ESPN2 into ESPN8: The Ocho for a 24-hour period. This year, the annual event will take place on Friday, August 5.
But before the ESPN takeover comes and we are introduced to a new world of bizarro sports, there will be preview days leading up to Friday to get us warmed up for what is to come.
“The American Cornhole League (ACL) will host its SuperHole III event at The Rock Hill Sports & Event Center. The quarterfinals will air at 4 p.m. and the finals will air at 8 p.m. The SuperHole event pairs a celebrity with an ACL pro for the competition. Celebrities set to participate include: Jay Cutler, Doug Flutie, Terry Kirby, Ben Rector, Mike “The Situation” Sorrentino, Dawn Staley, Chris Weidman and ESPN and SEC Network’s own Marty Smith,” ESPN said in a statement.
“Smith and co-host Ryan McGee will also anchor a one-hour special The Ocho Show live from inside The Rock Hill Sports & Event Center at 2 p.m.”
In addition to pre-recorded programming, there will be live coverage from select events throughout the day.
