Longtime WWE CEO and chairman Vince McMahon stepped down from his position after reports surfaced that he had paid a former employee to after having an affair. WWE’s Board of Directors is investigating the allegations. And now, they will have more allegations to look into.
According to the Wall Street Journal, McMahon paid four different women a total of $12 million in hush money which prevented them from coming forward with information about their relationships with the WWE boss.
One of the allegations comes from a former wrestler who claims McMahon coerced her into giving him oral sex and ultimately decided not to renew her deal with the company after she refused to engage in other sexual encounters. McMahon reportedly paid the former wrestler $7.5 million in a settlement.
Two other former WWE say they were each paid $1 million by McMahon to remain silent.
The original report, which led to McMahon stepping down, was from a former WWE paralegal who alleged McMahon paid her $3 million after they had an affair.
It will be interesting to see whether WWE continues to investigate the allegations and what that means for McMahon, who has continued to make appearances on Raw and SmackDown after the initial payout allegations surfaced.
