It doesn’t feel like Independence Day unless you gather the family around to watch some professional eaters chow down on some hot dogs. The hot dog king Joey Chestnut is returning once again this year and will look to defend his crown, a title which he has held since 2007.
How To Watch The Nathan’s Hot Dog-Eating Contest
ESPN Monday, July 4th. 10:45 a.m. ET
Coverage will begin at 10:45 a.m. ET, with coverage of the women’s division, as Michelle Lesco will try to defend her 2021 crown after finishing the competition last season with a total of 30 3/4 dogs completed.
Chestnut will be looking to break his own world record yet again by finishing off more than 76 dogs in a 10-minute span.
Last year, Lesco earned her first title as the reigning champ Miki Sudo was out due to her pregnancy. Sudo will return for the 2022 competition looking to regain the title she has won on seven different occasions. A can’t miss rivalry could be looming in the women’s division.
At a time when the world can look for an American hero, there will be one trying to create history once again on the 4th of July. A competition that should be watched without food nearby, the Nathan’s Hot Dog Eating Contest is a must-watch for any true American.
