The 2022 Masters is underway at Augusta National Golf Course in Georgia.
While the oddsmakers have handicapped the field and named Jon Rahm as the favorite, Twitter has a different take. After sorting through some Twitter data, the folks at sportsbook BetOnline.ag determined which golfer each state thinks will be taking home the green jacket.
New No. 1 Scottie Scheffler got the nod in most states, followed by Rahm.
The map above is based on geotagged twitter data in the last month, tracking tweets, hashtags, and direct keyword phrases about who will win The Masters Tournament this year. For example, “Justin Thomas will win the Masters,” “Jordan Spieth will win the Masters,” “Jon Rahm will win the Masters,” etc. Over 90,000 tweets were tracked.
