Diana Taurasi, Sue Bird Get Punny With Gamecocks Nickname On ESPN (VIDEO)

Diana Taurasi and Sue Bird were part of ESPN’s mega cast for the NCAA women’s national championship game between the South Carolina Gamecocks and Connecticut Huskies.

We have all chuckled while referring to the Gamecocks in the past by their shortened ‘Cocks moniker, and the WNBA stars decided to have a little fun as well.

During the broadcast, Taurasi couldn’t help herself. Bird was also happy to bring the sexual innuendo.

“It’s a game of inches,” Bird said. Taurasi added, “It’s a game of inches, ask the Cocks. And they’re taking those inches.”

“Do you take those inches?” Bird followed up.

“Absolutely,” Taurasi responded.

Well done, ladies. Perhaps the funniest moment of the exchange was United States women’s soccer star Megan Rapinoe casually sipping from her red Solo cup to avoid laughing.

Whether it be the Taurasi-Bird megacast on ESPN or the Monday Night Football Manningcast, the Worldwide Leader in Sports has found a way to bring fresh commentary to the game and create some viral moments while adding a podcast-like feel to the discussion. It’s simply brilliant, and hopefully is here to stay.
