Boston Bruins star Taylor Hall was involved in a wild scene on Tuesday night against the Toronto Maple Leafs.

The former NHL MVP was knocked into the boards by Ilya Lyubushkin, and retaliated in a way that has landed him in some hot water.

Hall felt that Lyubushkin’s shove into the boards was unnecessary and a dirty play, but his response was much worse. Hall immediately bounced up to his skates and sucker-punched Lyubushkin in the head — which is definitely a dirty and unnecessary move.

Lyubushkin collapsed to the ice and remained face down for a few moments before he made his way to the locker room. The 27-year-old was held out for the remainder of the game for “precautionary reasons.”

Hall, meanwhile, has been fined $5,000 for the cheap shot during the Bruins’ 6-4 loss.
