Nick Kyrgios always puts on a show, for better or worse.
As one of the flashiest players on tour and tennis’s notorious bad boy Kyrgios has been known to lose his temper when things go south on the court against Jannik Sinner. During the first set tiebreak, Kyrgios fell behind and was issued a warning from umpire Carlos Bernardes for unsportsmanlike conduct, before continuing to jaw with the official leading to a point penalty.
Kyrgios double-faulted to give Sinner the first set.
Then, things continued to get worse. Kyrgios continued shouting at the official before smashing his racket repeatedly on the court which led to a game point. Because Kyrgios was set to serve to start the second set, he was automatically down a break.
Here is how it all went down:

While it was an unfortunate meltdown, one fan at the grandstand got an incredible souvenir with Kyrgios giving them the broken racket.
Kyrgios’s penalties ultimately became too much to overcome, with the No. 9 seed Sinner winning the match 7-6 (3), 6-3, to advance to the quarterfinals at the Miami Open.
