Chloe Kim earned her place in Olympics history this week in Beijing.
The American snowboarder was able to defend her gold medal in the women’s snowboarding halfpipe from the 2018 Winter Games after a stellar run on Wednesday.
The 21-year-old Kim got out in front with a score of 94.00 on her first run and never looked back. With the win, Kim became the first woman in Winter Olympics history to win back-to-back gold medals in the halfpipe event.

After her incredible run, Kim spoke about the struggles she went through during training before bouncing back on her gold medal run.
“I’m not gonna lie, I had one of the worst practices I’ve ever had,” she said. “… but when I was getting ready to drop in I just reminded myself – It’s a brand new run.”
