A wild scene unfolded after the Toronto Argonauts and Hamilton Tiger-Cats faced off in the East Division Finals on Sunday in the CFL Playoffs. At the end of the game, a group of Argonauts players jumped over a railing and made their way into the crowd where a scuffle broke out.
During the incident, one player was seen throwing a wild haymaker at a Tiger-Cats fan.
According to TMZ Sports, “some fans had spilled drinks on the players, causing the initial commotion.”
After Toronto defensive back Chris Edwards threw the punch, Argos receiver Dejon Brissett quickly jumped in to break up the scuffle and avoid any potential turn for the worse.
The CFL said it is reviewing the situation.
As for the game itself, the Tiger-Cats came out on top, 27-19, and will now face the Winnipeg Blue Bombers in the Grey Cup which is a rematch of the 2019 championship game.
