Boxing star Gervonta Davis showed his respects to NBA legend Kobe Bryant on Sunday night for his pay-per-view bout against Issac Cruz at the Staples Center in Los Angeles.
“Tank” was defending his WBA lightweight title in “The House That Kobe Built” with some special Kobe-themed shorts and boots that were inspired by the highly-coveted Nike Zoom Kobe 6 ‘Grinch’ sneakers.
Davis also wore special walkout gear in Lakers colors while the numbers 8 and 24 were embroidered on his shorts.

Davis would go on to defeat Cruz via unanimous decision and dedicate his win to Bryant.
Who is next for Davis remains to be seen, but another boxing star, Ryan Garcia, has been very vocal about his desire to face off against the heavy-handed champion so we will have to wait and see if the bout can come to fruition.
