Original Story: The Minnesota Vikings are expressing their concern for Everson Griffen after the defensive end shared concerning video and messages on social media in the early hours of the morning on Wednesday.

Griffen shared screenshots that he allegedly sent saying that he needed help and “people are trying to kill me.” Griffen also shared a video that showed him on the ground with a gun saying that people were trying to kill him in his home.

The Vikings have since released a statement on the matter, saying they sent mental health professionals to Griffen’s home and are working with authorities during the situation

“Vikings representatives and the team’s mental health professionals have been on-site at Everson Griffen’s home since early this morning and are cooperating with law enforcement,” the statement said. “Our only concern at this time is the safety and well-being of Everson and his family. We will have further comment at the appropriate time.”

Griffen has publicly dealt with mental health issues in the past, including a 2018 situation where he jumped out of an ambulance saying that someone was going to shoot him.

At this time, Griffen reportedly remains inside of his home as authorities attempt to resolve the situation.
