The college basketball season officially tipped off on Tuesday night. In the words of Dick Vitale, diaper dandies led the way in a few games last night. From blue bloods clashing to teams looking to become the next big thing.

Let’s check out some of the best freshman performances from opening night.

Paolo Banchero & Trevor Keels Dominate In Duke Debut

Duke clashed with Kentucky on Tuesday night to open the regular season for both historical programs. From the jump, Duke looked like the more talented team. The Blue Devils were led by freshmen stars Paolo Banchero and Trevor Keels to a 71-79 victory over the Wildcats.

Banchero is a bonafide star that will surely hear his name called early on draft night. Banchero finished with 22 pts while Keels led the team with 25 pts. Duke has definitely rebounded from a poor campaign last season.

Memphis Stellar Freshman Duo

The Memphis Tigers and head coach Penny Hardaway have a lot they want to prove this season. Last night the Tigers showed they have some guys that can lead the team to an exciting season. Freshman duo Emoni Bates and Jalen Duren shined in their Memphis debuts. Bates led the team in scoring with 17 pts while the Tigers went on to win a dominating performance 65-89 over Tennessee Tech.

The Tigers will not play a power five conference team until Nov. 24th, when they take on Virginia Tech. However, this duo will be can’t miss basketball.

The Bulldogs Want It All

The number one recruit in all the land did not disappoint in his debut with Gonzaga. Chet Holmgren had an incredible debut with the Bulldogs filling up the stat sheet in every category. Most of us still don’t know where Dixie State is even located, but that still shouldn’t take away from an exciting debut from Holmgren. Coach Few missed an excellent start from his Bulldogs.
