Ronda Rousey is officially a mom.
This week, the former UFC women’s bantamweight champion who opened the door for women to compete in the UFC, announced the birth of her daughter with her husband, former UFC heavyweight Travis Browne.
Rousey revealed the birth on Instagram late Monday night, while also revealing the child’s name.
And when the child finally starts school, it’s going to be a tough name to spell: La’akea Makalapuaokalanipō Browne. Good luck to any teacher who has to try to pronounce that one during roll call.
According to the Google machine, the name La’akea means “sacred light or sacred things” in Hawaiian, while Makalapuaokalanipō doesn’t have a defined meaning that shows up in search but surely at some point there will be a reason out there.
Rousey left WWE back in 2019 to start a family with Browne. Whether she plans a return after spending time with her newborn remains to be seen.
Congratulations to Rousey and Browne on starting their new family.
