Conor McGregor had one of the most embarrassing first pitches that you will ever see when he stepped onto the mound at Wrigley Field ahead of the Chicago Cubs’ game against the Minnesota Twins.
McGregor’s accuracy left a lot to be desired, and he was ruthlessly mocked with viewers comparing his pitch to the disaster from 50 Cent years ago.
But, in the eyes of McGregor, he threw a hall of fame-worthy “rocket launch” of a strike. The former two-division UFC champ defended his pitch in an epic, hilarious rant on social media that everyone should take the time to read.
“The audacity to compare mine with this piss! Picture to picture alone buries this. Mine, bar the accuracy, was the most powerful and fastest first pitch of any of these other athletes/ artist over the years,” McGregor wrote on Instagram. “No comparison. Smoke them up and down that Forbes I do. Get Messi over. Smoked. Cris. Smoked. Federer. Doubled. All time Most Power! Put me in the Wrigley hall of fame for that rocket launch. Beside some of that nice red brick. Mahogany Oak Frame. Wimbledon lines in the grass. The great Wrigley Field reminds me of the grounds on my land in Ireland. Impeccable.”

It is hard to read that and not laugh. And, after all, McGregor certainly had some heat on his throw.
