Tommy Fury has been discussed as a potential future opponent for Jake Paul. Now that both men won their fights on Sunday night’s pay-per-view in Cleveland, Ohio, their paths could be on a collision course.
Sure, Fury fought to a four-round decision win on the undercard and Paul won via split-decision, but the two men clashed backstage after the event to add even more fuel to the fire of a potential fight down the line.
At the post-fight press conference, Fury commented on Paul and the confrontation, while saying that Paul is not a real fighter.

āJake Paul is one of them, youād be surprised if you see him in the ring again because I donāt think Jake Paul has got a lot of balls,ā Fury said, via MMAFighting.com. āItās obvious. He got asked about me in the post-fight interview and didnāt have nothing to say. He confronted me in the hallway there, had his 15-20 team (of people) jump all over us. We was there. We were ready to fight there and then. Heās big in front of cameras but small by himself and Jake Paul realized tonight how hard the sport of boxing is, and he got clipped with a little shot. Imagine if he got hit, dropped. I donāt know if youāll see Jake Paul back in the ring again…
āIt just transpired about 10 minutes ago. I was doing an interview down there and his whole team landed, Jake Paul squaring up to me. But then, he seen me at ringside, I was leaning over the ropes, waiting to get in there, and there was Logan going (shaking his head) āNot right now.ā They aināt fighters. Iāve said this from word one. If you want this fight, Iām here and Iām ready to go. Thereās no running and thereās no playing. And itās fine if you donāt want the fight, just say it and put everyoneās mind to rest and stop bullsh*tting all the time and just say how it is. You either want the fight or not. I want the fight and if you donāt just say it and we can move on….
āJake Paulās got nothing inside him and Iāve seen that in that corridor right there because there was a moment in that corridor where everything was going off between his security and my team and his team and I looked dead into his soul and when them cameras are not around, he doesnāt want to know. Letās be honest, if he really wanted to fight me, Iād have been in that ring at the end of the fight, through the ropes, letās go, thereās no return.”
Whether the bout comes to fruition remains to be seen.
After Paul’s split-decision win, Tyron Woodley called for an immediate rematch. At the post-fight presser, Paul was noncommittal about whether he wanted to fight Fury or Woodley next while saying that he will be keeping his options open.
