The UFC is reportedly targeting an exciting bantamweight clash between former lightweight champion Frankie Edgar and Sean O’Malley at the UFC 268 pay-per-view on November 6 which is expected to take place at New York’s iconic Madison Square Garden.
MMA insider Ariel Helwani shared the news.
“UFC wants to book Sean O’Malley versus Frankie Edgar next. Maybe even for the MSG show on Nov. 6. TBD on if it will happen,” Helwani reported.
Whether the bout ultimately takes place at Madison Square Garden remains to be seen, but if the Edgar vs. O’Malley fight does come to fruition it would be O’Malley’s biggest name opponent to date.
O’Malley is 2-0 in 2021, while Edgar is 1-1 since making the move to bantamweight.
