Simone Biles will have one last hurrah at the Tokyo Olympics.
On Monday, USA Gymnastics announced that the four-time gold medalist will be returning to competition on Tuesday to compete in the balance beam final. Biles previously pulled out of the individual all-around, floor exercise, uneven bars, and vault competitions after removing herself from the team competition last week.
Joining Biles in the balance beam final will be Suni Lee, who won gold in the women’s all-around following Biles’ exit.
USA Gymnastics confirmed the news in a brief statement on Twitter which read: “We are so excited to confirm that you will see two U.S. athletes in the balance beam final tomorrow – Suni Lee AND Simone Biles!! Can’t wait to watch you both!”
