The Logan Paul vs. Anderson Silva opening line was released amid speculation that the YouTube star and UFC Hall of Famer could face off in a boxing match this fall and it left many people surprised.
Paul opened as a solid favorite over Silva, which led to early bettors hammering the line for the former UFC champion.
As a result, the odds have drastically flipped.
Paul opened as a -200 favorite but now sits at +190. Silva, meanwhile, went from a +160 underdog to a whopping -240 favorite. The new odds were unveiled when the line reopened after bets were temporarily halted due to the immediate push.
“At the end of the day, it was a bad line,” BetOnline Odds Manager, Adam Burns, said. “It happens, and our customers are going to alert us of the mistake very quickly. In the first couple of hours, we took a few dozen bets on the match, with all but one being on Silva. We took the line off the board and moved it very aggressively.”
Rumors about the potential fight were previously leaked this week.
Dillon Danis, jiu jitsu ace and close friend of Conor McGregor, leaked a DM on social media that suggests an event could be in the works for September. Per the DM, a “huge event” is being planned for September 19 in Dubai.
“There will be a huge event in Dubai September 19,” a message from fifth-degree Brazilian Jiu Jitsu black belt Viktor Doria read. “Main event is Anderson Silva vs Logan Paul boxing match. Would you like to fight a grappling match adcc rules and referees?”

Just six weeks ago, Paul fought Floyd Mayweather Jr. to a draw in their eight-round exhibition match. Silva, meanwhile, earned a win over former boxing champ Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. last month.
