Yankees Fan Banned By MLB For Life After Hitting Red Sox Player With Ball (VIDEO)

A New York Yankees fan has been banned from MLB ballparks for life.

During this weekend’s game between the Yankees and Boston Red Sox at Yankees Stadium, a boneheaded fan decided to launch a ball from the stands at Red Sox star Alex Verdugo.

Verdugo had tossed the ball to a young fan in the crowd, but a man in a Yankees shirt got a hold of hit and threw it back when Verdugo turned his back, ultimately hitting him.

Understandably, Verdugo was not happy.

The fan was kicked out of the ballpark and will no longer be welcomed in ballparks across the league.

“While the Yankees appreciate the spirit and passion of our fans in our various rivalries — especially with the Red Sox — reckless, disorderly and dangerous behavior that puts the safety of players, field staff or fellow fans in jeopardy will not be tolerated,” Yankees officials said in a statement, via TMZ Sports.

“There is absolutely no place for it at Yankee Stadium. The safety of everyone at Yankee Stadium, including guests in the stands and players on the field, will always be the top priority for the Yankees organization every time we open our doors.”

Let’s hope fans just accept balls as souvenirs moving forward and avoid this recklessness.
