Dustin Poirier is fresh off of his second consecutive win over former two-division champion Conor McGregor at UFC 264. Now, he’s taking on another former champ.
In a video shared on social media, Poirier can be seen on the mats with four-time World’s Strongest Man Brian Shaw. The session with the two men took place earlier this year.
Shaw checks in at a whopping 6-foot-8 and tips the scales over 400 pounds. Poirier, meanwhile, is 5-foot-9 and fights at 155-pounds.

Despite the size difference, only one of the men is well-trained in martial arts and it shows. After keeping his position on the ground, Poirier was able to keep a hold of Shaw, who made his way back to his feet, before locking in a rear-naked choke and forcing the tap.
Now Poirier will go back to picking on people his own size.
With the win over McGregor, Dustin Poirier has earned a shot at lightweight champion Charles Oliveira in a bout that is expected to take place by the end of the year.
