Jake Paul and Tyron Woodley faced off at a press conference on Tuesday evening ahead of next month’s pay-per-view boxing match. During the verbal sparring match, the stakes were raised with a bet.
When the fight was first announced, Paul bet Woodley his entire fight purse for the match, but Woodey did not accept it. After all, why would you risk a guaranteed multi-million dollar payday? With the initial bet turned down, Paul decided to have some fun with a new wager.
While the new bet won’t be as financially risky, it will be permanent. The loser will have to get a tattoo that says, “I love…” and the name of the winner.
“So how about this, let’s make a new bet right now,” Paul said. “Let’s make a new bet — if I beat you, you have to get ‘I love Jake Paul’ tattooed on you. But if you beat me, I get ‘I love Tyron Woodley’ tattooed on me and you have to post it on your Instagram feed.
“Deal or no deal? Are you confident or not? This guy has no f*cking confidence.”
Woodley accepted, and the two men shook on the deal.
Paul vs. Woodley will serve as the main event on Showtime pay-per-view on August 29. The event is taking place in Jake Paul’s hometown of Cleveland, Ohio at the Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse. In the co-main event, WBC, WBO, and IBO women’s featherweight champion Amanda Serrano will take on Mexico’s Yamileth Mercado.
