Coors Light’s latest marketing ploy is brilliant, and if you are a Tampa Bay Lightning fan you will want to celebrate the second straight Stanley Cup win by downing this special edition brew.
The company is releasing “Champions Ice” which is made with ice scraped from the Lightning’s Amalie Arena, where they clinched the Stanley Cup victory earlier this month.
The limited-edition beer will only be distributed to select Tampa locations.
There will be special edition crowlers (32 oz cans) available which also feature a special message.
It has been called either amazing or disgusting, but Lightning fans can get their 32 oz growlers of Coors Light “Champions Ice” starting today. The beer was made with scraped ice from Amalie Arena, where the team plays. pic.twitter.com/XfSBaDK2w6

“The Bolts left it all on the ice. We turned that ice into beer,” the can reads. “In honor of the Tampa Bay Lightning winning back-to-back championships, we’ve brewed a limited edition beer made with th team’s actual game ice.”
It is reportedly the first beer to be made using melted hockey ice. And don’t worry, the ice was filtered and purified during the brewing process, so you won’t have to worry about the beer being sanitary.
Well done, Coors Light.
