According to reports, the college football sideline reporter and NBA Finals host could be heading for a split with ESPN after turning down a $5 million per year offer.

Taylor is looking for a raise from her current $1 million salary and reportedly is hoping for “Stephen A. Smith money.” According to the New York Post, Stephen A. Smith makes approximately $8 million per year.

Where things get interesting is that the $5 million offer was made last year during the coronavirus pandemic. The offer came before ESPN began cutting salaries and now Taylor is reportedly being offered in the $2 – $3 million range — far short of what she is looking for.

Taylor’s contract is set to expire on or around July 20.

If the 34-year-old does part ways with the Worldwide Leader in Sports, it would be interesting to see what potential suitors would line up and whether they would be willing to open up the checkbooks.
