Steve Sarkisian has already made an impact on the University of Texas.

When Sarkisian was introduced as the new Texas football coach in January, he introduced the slogan “All Gas No Brakes” to Longhorn Nation.

“To Longhorn Nation, it’s time to go to work,” Sarkisian said at the time. “Clearly, you guys have probably seen my mantra. This work will be all gas and no brakes. We will go to it full fledge, we will lay down on the hammer and get it.”

Texas officials loved the phrase so much that it has already been trademarked by the university.

According to HookEm.com, Austin attorney Steven Espenshade filed for the trademark on behalf of the University of Texas to have the phrase used by Texas athletic programs.

“Entertainment services, namely, organizing and conducting collegiate athletic competitions and providing opportunities for participation in collegiate athletics; providing collegiate athletic and sporting events; entertainment in the nature of collegiate football games,” the trademark says.

So get ready to see plenty of “All Gas No Breaks” gear coming out from the Longhorns in the coming months.

Let’s just hope Sarkisian can deliver on his motto and help the Longhorns once again become a competitive force on the national stage.
