As states across the country are beginning to fully reopen, New York is getting in on the fun.
Beginning next month, Governor Andrew Cuomo announced that indoor arenas, museums, and movies will be able to increase their capacities.
From the New York Post:
Large indoor arenas in New York can expand to 25 percent capacity starting May 19 — while museums and zoos can boost to 50 percent beginning next week, Gov. Andrew Cuomo announced Monday. Movie theaters also increase the number of film fans in seats to 33 percent starting next Monday, the governor said.
That’s great news for sporting venues with the NBA Playoffs approaching and the success of the New York Knicks and Brooklyn Nets.
Museums and movie theaters will also have the ability to generate some much-needed revenue.
While other states are fully opened, seeing New York approach the 50 percent capacity mark is promising as people hope to get back to life in the pre-pandemic days just in time for the summer.
