Major League Baseball is back! MLB Opening Day was on Thursday, April 1, and while some games were postponed due to COVID-19 issues, a majority of teams across the league officially kicked off their seasons.
One of those teams was the Houston Astros.
The Astros were one team that benefitted from the coronavirus pandemic because they did not have to play in front of angry fans last season after they were found guilty of elaborately stealing signs during the 2017 World Series-winning campaign.
But this season, they will have to face the crowds and it was immediately clear that people didn’t forget.
Everyone still hates the Houston Astros, and that was on full display during their Opening Day meeting with the Oakland Athletics at O.co Coliseum.
Check out the not-so-warm reception the team received as boos rained down from the crowd (along with some trash can banging).

The crowd also let Astros star Jose Altuve hear it.

Unfortunately for Athletics fans, the Astros hate didn’t help their team at all, because Houston went on to open the 2021 campaign with an 8-1 shellacking of the Athletics.
Oakland will have its chance at revenge today, April, 2, when they host the Astros once again. The first pitch is scheduled for 9:40 p.m. ET.
