It’s been quite the weekend for the Michigan women’s basketball team.
On Saturday, the Wolverines were eliminated from the 2021 NCAA Tournament after a loss to Baylor. On the flight home from San Antonio to Ann Arbor, the team plane was forced to make an emergency landing in Evansville, Indiana.
The scary situation was due to bad weather in the flight path.
“We were flying through a storm and lost pressure on our plane,” team spokesperson Sarah VanMetre said in a statement, via MLive.com. “The oxygen masks came down and we made an emergency landing in Evansville.”
Luckily, there were no injuries, but the team was still in Evansville as of Sunday morning.
Just want everyone to know, we are on the ground SAFE. Waiting for the next steps. @umichwbball 🙏🏾 pic.twitter.com/7XSvm0ZSue
