‘Talladega Nights’ Actor Houston Tumlin Dies By Suicide At 28

Houston Tumlin, who played a young Walker Bobby in the hit comedy Talladega Nights starring Will Ferrell, is dead at age 28.

According to TMZ, Tumlin committed suicide with a gunshot to the head inside of his home in Pelham, Alabama. No suicide note was found at the scene.

Per the report, Tumlin’s girlfriend was in the home at the time of his death.

Major Geoffrey Carmichael, 37, who was Tumlin’s Company Commander in Echo Company, 5th Battalion, 101st Combat Aviation Brigade, 101st Airborne Division from 2015 to 2016, shared his thoughts on Tumlin in a statement to the New York Post.

“I’m grateful I had the privilege to serve with him. He was one of my best — and I sincerely mean that,” Carmichael said.

Carmichael also commented on social media, urging people who made help to not be afraid to seek it.

“SGT Houston Tumlin came to me as PVT Tumlin. He showed a lot of spirit, promise, positive energy and was (hands down) one of my best Soldiers in my company. Came ready to work. Please check on each other. Get help if you need it. We need you.”
