COVID-19 has hit the 2021 NCAA Tournament.

Saturday’s game between the No. 10 VCU Rams and No. 7 Oregon Ducks at Indiana Farmers Coliseum has been canceled due to the Rams going through COVID-19 protocols.

Because of the decision, the game has officially been declared a “no contest” and the Ducks will advance to the second round of the tournament.

“This decision was made in consultation with the Marion County Public Health Department,” a statement from the NCAA Division I Men’s Basketball Committee read. “As a result, Oregon will advance to the next round of the tournament. The NCAA and the committee regret that VCU’s student-athletes and coaching staff will not be able to play in a tournament in which they earned the right to participate.

“Because of privacy issues we cannot provide further details.”

Entering Saturday night’s game, the Ducks were slight 5.5-point favorites over the Rams and the over/under was set for 137.5 total points.

Tip-off was set 9:57 p.m. ET.
