Benedict Umunakwe, a 22-year-old football player at Towson University, has gone missing, according to CBS 13-WJZ.
Baltimore County Police are searching for the missing student-athlete who was last seen on March 15 at around 7:00 a.m. He was last seen wearing a black sweatshirt with the number 21 in gold on the back.
Towson University has commented on Umunakwe’s disappearance and is urging anyone who may have information to contact police.
“We continue to cooperate with the Baltimore County Police Department in an effort to help bring our student home safely. We encourage anyone with information to contact county police at 410-307-2020,” a statement from the university read.
Police believe he may be in emotional distress.
