Mickey Callaway’s inappropriate behavior towards women was reportedly well-known by former employees with the Cleveland Indians and New York Mets, according to a report from Brittany Ghiroli and Katie Strang of The Athletic.
In fact, the current Los Angeles Angels pitching coach’s lewd actions were so well-known that he had earned the nickname “Dick Pic Mick” while with the Mets.
A former Indians employee also shed light on how known Callaway’s actions were.
“I laughed out loud when I saw the quote (in The Athletic’s original report) that said it was the worst-kept secret in baseball, because it was,” a Cleveland employee said. “It was the worst-kept secret in the organization.”

Callaway is currently suspended pending an investigation into the allegations against him which were brought up in a February report by The Athletic.
In that report, five female reporters said that Callaway had aggressively pursued them.
Callaway served as Mets manager from 2018 to 2019 before being fired. During his time with the organization, general counsel David Cohen, team security, and the human resources department were all made aware of an email that claimed Callaway sent a man’s wife “unsolicited pornographic material.”
