Tiger Woods is continuing to recover from serious leg injuries suffered during a single-car crash in Los Angeles last week.

Woods “suffered comminuted open fractures in his right leg.”

That means the bone was fractured in multiple places and broke through the skin. As a result, doctors used a rod and screws to stabilize his leg.

As he continues to recover, Woods’ team issued a statement updating the public on the golfer’s status.

“Tiger has moved to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center and received follow-up procedures on his injuries this morning,” the statement read. “The procedures were successful, and he is now recovering and in good spirits.

“Tiger and his family want to thank you all for the wonderful support and messages they received over the past few days. We will not have any further updates at this time. Thank you for your continued privacy.”

Following the accident, Dr. Anish Mahajan, Chief Medical Officer at Harbor-UCLA Medical Center, said: “Mr. Woods suffered significant orthopedic injuries to his right lower extremity that were treated during emergency surgery by Orthopaedic trauma specialists.”
