The LSU-Florida basketball game scheduled for this weekend has been postponed, the Southeastern Conference announced on Friday.
The game was postponed after a number of positive COVID-19 tests within the Gators program.
Florida players and coaches must now go through contact tracing and quarantining in order to avoid a massive outbreak that could impact further games.
“I tell our guys all the time, ‘Adversity visits the strong and lives in the weak,’” head coach Will Wade said, via 247 Sports. “We’ve got to be strong and make this a passing thing.
“To this point in the season, we haven’t played to our potential … and that’s on me as the head coach. There’s no excuses from me. It’s on me and it’s on us to ultimately get it fixed. At the end of the day, that’s what we’re going to do. We’re going to keep working, figuring our way out of this.”
A date for the rescheduling of the game has not been announced at this time.
