Johnny Football is back! This week, it was announced that the former Heisman Trophy winner has signed to play for the new professional league named Fan Controlled Football.
Johnny Manziel will be suiting up for the Zappers, who are co-owned by New York Mets pitcher Trevor May and sportscaster Bob Menery.
The new league is set to begin play in February with all games streamed live on Twitch.
“The more I heard about what this was going to be, the more I felt it was going to be something that was just very fun,” Manziel told ESPN.com.
“It’s going to be very fan-oriented and something I could get behind without being extremely, extremely, extremely serious, the way that my football career has been in the past.”
The FCF will feature 7-on-7 full-contact games on a 50-yard field. So get ready, there will be plenty of action, plenty of scoring, and another opportunity for Johnny Football to shine.
