The 57-year-old was one of 14 “Johns” who were busted during the operation.
Per the report, O’Nora was busted after he went online to solicit a prostitute. Instead, he was arrested by the Liberty Township Police Department.
“John stings deter those seeking to purchase sex — reducing the demand for human trafficking — and serve as a reminder that these crimes are more prevalent and closer to home than you may think,” Ohio Attorney General Dave Yost said in a statement.
O’Nora and the 13 other men who were busted during the operation have all been charged with misdemeanor soliciting and misdemeanor possessing criminal tools.
O’Nora previously served as an umpire during multiple MLB All-Star Games and was also on the diamond during the 2012 World Series between the San Francisco Giants and Detroit Tigers.
The MLB has not commented on O’Nora’s arrest at this time.
