If you were paying attention to the NFL on Sunday, you certainly saw the New York Jets’ embarrassing last-second blunder which led to the team falling to 0-12 on the season and remaining in the driver’s seat to earn the No. 1 overall pick in the 2021 NFL Draft.
For some reason, the Jets rushed seven on the last-second play and ran a Cover-0 which left no over the top help.
Considering the only way the Las Vegas Raiders could have won the game was by allowing a wide receiver to get behind the defensive backs, it was a highly suspect and questionable call.
So, it comes as no surprise that former Jets head coach Rex Ryan ripped into the team and defensive coordinator Gregg Williams for the costly call.
“Been around the thing for 58 years, 30 years as a coach. That’s THE dumbest call EVER. There’s no other way of putting it,” Ryan said on ESPN’s Get Up! “Look … there’s a time and a place for cover-zero. That thing sure ain’t it. It’s just stupid!”
Tell us how you really feel, Rex.
