The New York Police Department busted a real life “fight club” in the Bronx.
According to the Washington Post, more than 200 people were loaded into a warehouse in the Bronx which had a makeshift ring and metal barriers in the middle of the open space. The “illegal fight club” violated the city’s COVID-19 restrictions and was promptly broken up.
Per the report, two loaded firearms were recovered from the warehouse.
The fight club was reportedly spearheaded by 32-year-old Michael J. Roman, who was one of 10 people to be arrested and charged with unlawful assembly, along with health and alcohol violations and participating in a prohibited combative sport..
Organizers from the event didn’t do too good of a job hiding their operation, because videos began surfacing on social media.
Both organizers are facing a $15,000 fine.
