Authentic of Madaket Stables LLC will make it to the top with his trainer Bob Baffert. Authentic gained 200 points and ranked two among the twenty top high-class horse contenders. He still needs to do a lot of work to win against Tiz the Law, who currently has 372 points.
However, it is not impossible for him to make it to the finish line before the two minutes countdown. Authentic won three first places in the TVG.com Haskell Stakes and San Felipe Stakes while earning second place in the Sham Stakes. That’s still a competitive score that shows how much he can possibly win the Derby.
Rank 3. Art Collector
Art Collector, handled by trainer Thomas Drury Jr., is at third rank in the Kentucky Derby, with 150 total gained points. Art collector recently won the Ellis Park Derby on Sunday and was ridden by Brian Hernandez Jr. This achievement can tell that there is a strong possibility Art Collector can win the Kentucky Derby this year.
However, based on his score from the leaderboard, he still needs to train harder to surely win this prestigious race. Art Collector was able to build a strong race history, with four straight first-place wins in the Runhappy Ellis Park Derby and the Toyota Blue Grass Stakes. He also got a sixth place in the Allowance Optional Claiming at Churchill Downs last November 9, 2019.
Rank 4. Honor A.P
Fourth on the rank is Honor A.P. He is handled by John A. Shirreffs, who won a lot of stakes races. Shirreffs is the first trainer who conquered the Ladies Classic and Classic horse races in the same year. That’s why it is not impossible for him to win with Honor A.P., and with his expertise in handling horses, he might be his ticket to winning the upcoming 2020 Kentucky Derby.
Honor A.P. won first place in the Runhappy Santa Anita Derby on June 6, 2020. Moreover, he got second place in the San Felipe Stakes in Santa Anita Park last March 7, 2020, and in Shared Belief Stakes in Del Mar.
Rank 5. NY Traffic
NY Traffic is a three-year-old colt handled by Saffie A. Joseph. He is ranked five in the leaderboard for the upcoming Kentucky Derby with 110 points. The horse won three-second places this year in the TVG.com Haskell Stakes, Matt Winn Stakes, and Twinspires.com Louisiana Derby.
NY Traffic also won third place in the Risen Star S.Presented by Lamarque Ford. The horse might need more hard work to win the upcoming 2020 Kentucky Derby, but his previous wins showed that he’s still a threat to the other contenders.
