A police chase in Detroit this afternoon ended with the car running from police losing control and hitting a tree, splitting the car in half while the WXYZ chopper was in the air catching it live. WXYZ reports the chase went down in Oakland County, which is northwest of downtown Detroit, and ended in Sterling Heights.
A source tells 7 Action News that the suspect was wanted for several armed robberies, including a carjacking. The condition of the driver is currently unknown.
Fox-2 Detroit reports the Kia Soul hit speeds of 115 mph before the chase ended.
