For some reason the New Orleans police department has issued a warrant for Odell Beckham Jr. over him slapping a cop on the ass in the LSU locker room after the national championship game. Something tells me the NCAA is behind this since they can’t get Odell for giving out piles of cash to the players so get him on simple assault and create bad headlines for OBJ. That’s my theory as to why this news is out.
The New Orleans Police Department public affairs office confirmed that the security guard filed the complaint.
Louisiana statute defines simple battery as battery committed without the consent of the victim. Punishment in Louisiana can include a fine of no more than $1,000 and imprisonment for no more than six months, or both.
“We are aware of the incident and have been in touch with Odell and his representatives on the matter,” the Browns said in a statement issued Thursday. “They are cooperating with the proper authorities to appropriately address the situation.”
Is it ridiculous to be slapping a cop on the ass? Yes. Was the cop going a little overboard looking for cigars in the locker room? Yes, but there’s a very good chance his boss sent him in there. The guy’s just doing his job and Odell’s out here slapping his ass. Dumb.
