Former cop Jason Bragg McIntosh has surrendered after the death of his wife Megan Montgomery, 31, in a case where police say Megan was shot to death in an athletic complex shortly after getting a restraining order against 45-year-old Jason. The cops haven’t come out and named Jason as the suspect, but his attorney went ahead and announced it.
“Quick BAMA workout before this #ironbowl …I have to say I’m a little NERVOUS 😬 ,” Megan wrote on her final Instagram post Saturday. Megan had posted normal holiday photos around Thanksgiving and didn’t seem to indicate going through any trouble with the estranged husband. A quick scan of her account shows McIntosh stopped showing up around late February of this year, but the account still features many photos of the couple prior to that date.
Montgomery was the daughter of Johnny “Ironman” Montgomery, an eight-time finisher of the World Championship IRONMAN triathlon in Kona Hawaii and a Homewood real estate agent. Her mother, Susann Montgomery Clarke, is also well-known in the community and works with nonprofit fundraising.
Megan Montgomery and her previous husband, along with her father and his wife, appeared in a 2016 episode of HGTV’s House Hunters.
The cops had interaction with McIntosh going back to February when they found Montgomery with a gunshot wound to the arm. Then in May there was another altercation. McIntosh was arrested in that incident for domestic violence. Montgomery’s body was found Sunday morning around 4:30 a.m.

A man, who says he was with Megan Montgomery Saturday night after the Iron Bowl, claims a man approached Megan at a bar and told her to walk outside. “We all looked at him, asked who he was and he said, “that’s my wife she’s going with me.”
