Alabama Crab Legs Buffet Brawl Breaks Out, Fighters Use Tongs As Fencing Swords, Two Arrested

A 3.5-star Yelp buffet in Huntsville, Alabama was the scene of a wild scene where emotions boiled over when a fresh tray of crab legs were brought out to starving customers who wanted to get crackin’ on those legs. The Meteor Buffet beef left two, John Chapman and Chequita Jenkins, in jail and the local media at the doorstep doing live i-Team reports over the crab leg rage that went down.

I’ll say this, if people are fighting over crab legs at a buffet in Huntsville those must be some damn good crab legs. The line is going to be out the door this week because nothing attracts new customers like people fighting over crab legs. There’s instant fascination over the legs. You have to taste them for yourself. Basic marketing 101.

From WHNT:

“Literally, as I sat down and maybe took two bites out of my plate,” Huntsville police officer Gerald Johnson recalled. For Johnson, apparently, some Friday evening peace and quiet was too much to ask.

“There’s a woman who’s beating a man. People are moving around, plates are shattering everywhere,” Johnson continued. No sooner had he dished up a plate at Meteor Buffet off Memorial Parkway, Johnson says a fight was happening in the food line.

“It’s not something you typically hear, if you can imagine a fencing match,” Johnson said. The sound Johnson was hearing was tongs clashing. The Meteor Buffet diners were eagerly awaiting the next tray of crab legs coming out of the kitchen.

“Everyone was saying, ‘They cut me in line. She cut me in line. He cut me in line. I was here first,'” Johnson said.

The two brawlers now face a bunch of court costs and trouble over a $10.58 buffet. Hate to see it. Shouldn’t these two be sentenced to serving crab legs to customers for a month? That would be the ultimate sentence because you know John and Chequita would much rather be eating those incredible legs.

BTW, great work here from Joel going out and getting tongs to demonstrate how the fight went down…great hustle:
