How did Super Bowl week get started? The NBA — specifically Anthony Davis and his agent Rich Paul — went out and dropped a “trade me” nugget on Adrian Wojnarowski to tweet out on Monday morning. The tweet went out at 7:09 a.m. ET so the NBA instantly controlled the show throughout the day. That’s something Roger Goodell never let happen in the past. He would’ve squashed that immediately.
Anyway, the reaction out of NOLA where the people have been battered over the last couple weeks was swift and pretty universal. The BDs weren’t down with this attitude out of Unibrow. The Saints choke away the Super Bowl and now Davis doesn’t want to secure a bag, instead he clearly has been compromised by Bron Bron for his own legacy. Bron got in AD’s head, told him that he’ll have plenty of money when he signs with the Lakers and now Davis has fully bought in.
And the NBA just got way less interesting in one of these markets that’s never going to attract a free agent. The NBA has a problem on its hands and Bron Bron is pulling all the strings here.
Agent Rich Paul has notified the New Orleans Pelicans that All-NBA forward Anthony Davis has no intention of signing a contract extension if and when presented and that he has requested a trade, Paul told ESPN on Monday.
