Imagine working in local news down in Florida where it’s like shooting fish in a barrel when it comes to finding award-winning content like this one where a guy goes to KFC, gets into a beef with the KFC worker who clearly DGAF and then calls the cops to complain that he was hurt when the KFC worker smacked him upside the head with a box of extra crispy chicken and biscuits.
I mean, this is what TV journalists were created for. This is the type of story that keeps them going just waiting for that call from the big dogs in New York and Los Angeles. One thing leads to another and the reporter has a viral story sitting in his/her lap because Florida is going to Florida and it’s a swinging box of chicken. That’s going to get a response on social.
Officers were sent to the 53-year-old man’s home, where he told police he caught the confrontation on video. According to investigators, the clip showed the customer waiting on his order at the drive-thru window outside the KFC on Edgewood Avenue near the intersection of Avenue B.
Police said the customer was upset with the KFC employee for not wearing gloves while preparing food. After a back-and-forth verbal disagreement, the employee tossed the customer’s box of food, striking him in the face.
Need more proof that Shade DGAF? This isn’t her first rodeo with the penal system:
It is not Simmons’ first brush with the law, Duval County records show. In 2007 she was charged with domestic battery and in 2009 she was charged with petty retail theft, getting a suspended sentence.
Then in December 2013, Simmons was charged with aggravated battery with a deadly weapon, driving on a suspended license, and probation violation. The battery charge was dropped and she was released on time served after spending a month in county jail.
