Downtown Vegas is getting a new high-rise hotel casino and the design is pretty cool
It shouldn’t come as a surprise to anybody that the sports book for the Circa Resort & Casino — the newly named integrated resort coming to downtown Las Vegas — will be a prime spot.
Construction is expected to begin next month for the first from-the-ground-up downtown resort in decades. The property’s doors scheduled to open in December 2020. The cost of the project hasn’t been revealed.

Give me a moment while I cry for the golden days of downtown Vegas when you could stumble into the Las Vegas Club and throw down $5 chips and drink like an absolute fool for four days before going back to your miserable life in your boring hometown that shuts down at 8 p.m. Sure, this new place looks all shiny, but that’s not what I want out of downtown Vegas. I worry that the level of filth I came to love will soon be gone from downtown. Even the El Cortez, one of the scariest places I’ve ever been in, has been turned into a boutique hotel. The Plaza — once a breath of fresh air (just kidding, the cigs will kill you on the spot) — has been cleaned up. Looks like I can still go to the Four Queens, the Fremont and sorta to the Golden Gate.
