Tate Martell Enters Transfer Portal

Tate Martell is transferring from Ohio State

It appears Tate Martell could transfer from Ohio State now that there’s evidence that Martell’s name has been added to the NCAA’s transfer portal. Martell, who originally said he was ready for a battle to win the 2019 starting job away from Georgia transfer Justin Fields, played sparingly for the Buckeyes in 2018 behind Dwayne Haskins and figured to have a very tough time beating out Fields.

Now in the transfer protocol, Martell will be able to talk to other schools about a transfer. Is it official that he will 100% leave Ohio State? Not at this point, but this is definitely a change from the defiant stance he had in late December.

Tate Martell was asked who is going to be the next starting quarterback at Ohio State.
"I will."
Level of confidence?
"I'm 100-percent sure on that."
