Remember when gambling in Tunica was great?
Yeah, well it’s been dying for several years now and Caesars announced they’re shutting down the casino that’s next to the Horseshoe. From the Las Vegas Sun:
A company is closing a second casino in Mississippi’s Tunica County, citing decreasing revenues.
Caesars Entertainment of Las Vegas announced Tuesday that it will close the Tunica Roadhouse Casino at January’s end.
Caesars will keep open the 135-room hotel attached to Tunica Roadhouse, operating it with its neighboring Horseshoe Tunica hotel and casino.
The Mississippi Gaming Commission reported in October that Tunica Roadhouse had 377 casino employees and 36 hotel employees. Caesars says it could hire some workers at Horseshoe.
It’s not a huge loss for Tunica gamblers, especially when you have the Shoe and the Gold Strike still in the same spot. Tunica remains one of the strangest areas of the country that I’ve ever been in. There are casinos at end of roads and old people just waiting to die betting their last pennies. It’s surreal, but it’s a great area to stay before heading south to Oxford for an Ole Miss game. Stay at the Gold Strike. Trust me.

Damian Lillard set the Trail Blazers franchise record with 10 3-pt FG, and did it in only 3 quarters.
Lillard is the 4th player in the last 5 seasons with 10 threes through 3 quarters. He joins Stephen Curry (done 5 times), Klay Thompson (3) and Kemba Walker.
