Kirk Herbstreit was in Tuscaloosa today to check in with the 2018 Heisman Trophy winner Tua Tagovailoa and see what he’s up to as the college season chugs along to another Alabama national title. Now 8-0, Tua’s streak of not playing in a 4th quarter is firmly intact as the Tide just keeps embarrassing teams, including SEC teams like Tennessee where Tua barely played in the 3rd quarter. His final touchdown pass at the 12:53 mark put Bama up 51-14.
I’m not a football expert, but I have to assume we’ve never seen anything like this in Power 5 college football history. I’ll need Bear or some other researcher who gets to used ESPN’s powerful research databases to look into that. Bama rolls into Baton Rouge a week from Saturday as a 14-point favorite, which might end up being his first 4th quarter of the season. Maybe. Or Joe Burrow will throw a couple picks and LSU will get blown out.
Digging even deeper into that play chart, it appears that the deepest Tua has played into a game is the 5:33 mark of the 3rd. INSANE.
I’m shocked the Tua Heisman value is still so good…this is pretty much the runaway of the century:

Here are Tua’s season stats. Again, keep in mind he has not played in the 4th quarter of a game. Bama is 8-0. Show me someone else who deserves that Heisman.
Flew to @AlabamaFTBL today to sit down with Tu’a. What an incredible young man. Humble to a fault.
Here’s his drive chart from this season so far.
Yellow represents TD’s
Blue = FG’s
White..drives without scores. Unprecedented!!! #VideoGameResults pic.twitter.com/0OHCAaImW4— Kirk Herbstreit (@KirkHerbstreit) October 25, 2018
