Meet Heidi Hill – Instagram Fisherman

University of Florida student Heidi Hill has big aspirations to be a “Veterinary technician. Pursuing a bachelors in animal science with an ultimate goal in a doctorate of veterinary medicine.” That’s the school side. The social media side includes a growing — 41k IG followers — business as an Instagram Fisherman.
In this day and age of Instagram Fisherman becoming international celebrities, Heidi might end up becoming a superstar fisherman before she has a chance to the that doctorate.

From when she was a little girl who could barely see over the gunnel, boats have always been her play pin. “Nothing beats losing sight of the shore knowing you’re going to that special spot where the thrill of the fight awaits.” There’s no doubt that traveling the waters of Florida, Bahamas and Costa Rica is Heidi’s passion and lifestyle. As a certified level II Nitrox diver, one of her most outstanding experiences is being four atmospheres deep hunting for 8-lb. lobster and epic grouper. Aside from this, the fight up top soaking up the sun is still her all-time favorite. Wahoo, Mahi mahi, grouper and sea bass are her favorite fish to eat but all fish are welcome aboard her boat. If she’s not kissing fish, you can find her learning about marine animals as well as land animals in the classroom.

In Heidi’s latest IG adventure, she was fishing for black fin and yellow fin tuna off the shores of Louisiana.
